overview

I was given the opportunity to help ideate and create a website for a new architectural publication for students by students at Georgia Tech.

approach

With students in mind, I wanted to incorporate elements of fun interaction to engage the user base and to deliver a feeling of "play." Using HTML, CSS, and JS, I was able to create a homepage that randomly populates three articles within the grid (the "sandbox"). I also designed the layout of the other pages using purely HTML and CSS.

final design

home page

Using HTML, CSS, & JS, I incorporated random placement of articles with each reload. The intention was to reinforce the feeling of "play" that the publication wanted me to help convey.

GOAT

Left is my redesign. In my redesign, I made the interface incorporate greater interactive properties, allowing you to access much more information in a simpler more seamless way.

Calm Meditation

Left is my redesign. I incorporated a cleaner font and also the brand's identity to convey something I believed to be a better reflection of my interpretation of the brand's mission.

Apple Books

Top is my redesign. I wanted to experiment with Apple's older skeuomorphic design language in tandem with its new one. I believe that with the rise of AR, skeuomorphism may be on the rise again with the lines between reality and the virtual being blurred.
